Gift for Cheer Mom

9:59 PM 0 Comments
I finally FINISHED my gift for our Cheer Mom. It was definitely a labor of love. Actually I really enjoyed working on it. I wanted to make some items for our Cheer Mom Lisa to let her know how much my daughter and I appreciated everything she has done over the years. This will be her last year as Cheer Mom because her daughter graduates along with my daughter this year. Lisa is an amazing and talented Cheer Mom. She has taken on the task to make each of the 26 cheer leaders feel like they are an important part of the team. Lisa has made some of the coolest gifts for these girls and the send off breakfasts for state competition was absolutely beautiful. So to make Lisa feel appreciated, I put together a few things for her to remember the years as Cheer Mom. I decorated a paint bucket and made  it into a cheer chair. These are used at games for he cheerleaders to sit on during the games. They can store there pom poms or snacks or anything they might need for the game in side and the lid is a cushion so they are able to sit comfortable.

This is some of the thing that will be going in side the Cheer bucket.
This is the front. I drew each letter and accent and then cut them out
of vinyl with my cricut. I glued different types of ribbon around the top
and bottom of the bucket. The cushion is made with foam and cotton fabric.
I attached it to a round piece of wood that is the same size as the lid and then used
a stapled gun to attach the lid to the wood.
This is the side view. I even drew the schools logo. I wrapped the handle with ribbon also.
This is the back of the bucket.

This is the other side of the bucket. I also made cheer bows and attached them to each side of
the bucket.

Different view of the front of the bucket.

This is a paper bag scrapbook decorated in the school colors Black and Gold with some
Bamboo (CTMH paper) card stock. The papers used for this book were some that I had to digitally created
to go along with some solid color cards stock from Close to My Heart.

The background paper is some I created. The colors are black and gold
but for some reason my camera turned some of the black paper into a blue like color. The roses
and swirlies were cut on the cricut using " Art Philosophy from Close to my Heart". The stamp on
the other page also is a Close to My Heart.  I made a tag that can be use to put a photo on or used for
jounaling. I glued tiny little beads on the swirlies and flowers.

Again I made polka dot, zebra paper shown on these pages. The butterfly on the second page is a tab to
pull the tag out so a photo can be place on it.  I also dried embossed the paper. Many of the embellishments
 were cut using the cricut.

I use some glitter paper to make this page sparkle. I stamped on the black paper and then used clear
embossing power to make the letter stand out. This page also has a tag that fits in side pocket.
See the next photo.

More digitally made paper. Oops I can see that the left side paper is upside down, gotta fix that. The flower
and tag are cut from the CTMH Art philosophy cartridge and then stamped.

I dried embossed the black paper. Place a couple of Rosette flowers . The large star has tiny
beads glued on it. I used stickles diamond glitter on the stars to help make them stand out more.

These are the tags that fit inside the openings of the paper bags. I have dried embossed them all.
The camera did not pick that up very well.

This is the last page of the book. I use book binder clips to hold the book together and then decorated
those with a lot of different styles of ribbon.

These boxes were made to hold different kinds of chocolate candy

These were items that I purchased from the bath and body store, I made
my own labels and glued them on.
I put a car air freshener inside this box that I also purchased from bath and body. The butterfly
on top is actually black with white stamping. Don't know why it looks blue.

I made this pillow by sewing 4 x 4 squares of fabric together, and then sewed black fabric to each strip and then
quilted all around the black stripes. I then made a ruffle by gathering the strips of the black fabric then attached
it around the pillow along with gold gathered ribbon. For not having a pattern to go by I think it turned
out pretty good.

This is what is on the back of the pillow. I also cut the fabric out on my cricut and then appliqued them to the
pillow.  I put a heart on the pillow, because it is kinda my signature.

So there you have it. Now I just have to figure out how I am going to put all this stuff in side and make
it look pretty when Lisa opens it. :)

Strawberry Valentine's Box

3:59 PM 0 Comments
It has been a while since I've posted. I have been very busy with putting together a rather big project which I hope to have done soon so I can post it. Mean while, I saw a really cute box that would be great to give as a gift for Valentine's day. I have always wanted to make the strawberry box but never took the time to put it together. Close to My Heart and Provo craft came out with and exclusive cartridge (Artiste) for the cricut that has just that box. So I used our Cranberry paper and cut out the strawberry and ran it through my sizzix using the dot embosser. Then use our Chocolate paper and cut another strawberry out and then used Clover meadow paper to make the leaves on top. I did not use the leaves that comes on the cartridge because I liked a different leaf instead and thought it looked closer to the real thing. I use Liquid Applique( by Marvy which you can also purchase through Close to My Heart) to make the drizzle affect. I really like how it turned out. The blog I was looking at is Stampinbygennys.blogspot.
Hope you give it try, you will become hooked. Happy crafting.

In order for the embossed dot to show up I lightly ran
sandpaper over the top of them.

I cute two different size leaves and then put a eyelit in the
middle of each leaft that way the ribbon didn't tear the hole
